Lines at practice according to Engels:

Chaput - Kotkaniemi - Armia
Hudon - Peca - Lehkonen
DLR - Suzuki - Scherbak
Shinkaruk - Froese - Agostino

I know they probably dont want to play Drouin any more than they need to but Id really like to see Kot with some skill.  Armia is good but I really want to see Kot with someone like Drouin, Gallagher, Domi etc to evaluate properly.   Even a guy like Lehk or Hudon would have been nice there (albeit there's a legit chance the Hudon-Peca-Lehk line will be a thing in the regular season).

I think you'll get the chance a little later this week. I assume we see some additional roster cuts tomorrow and we'll see something closer to our actual roster for Wednesday's game against Toronto. Kotkaniemi should make it further in camp then tonight. I would hope, anyway.

For sure.  Looks like the laughs are dressing a pretty bare-bones roster too so many CJ decided to rest most of the vets.    That defense is scary.

They're giving us their weakest roster. Let's see how we do.

The bonus here is that if we decide Kot isnt ready for the NHL but we want him to learn on the NA ice, we can see how he does against mostly AHL players ;)

This will be my 1st chance to see him play.,,,, as soon as I get rid of my company.:)

I saw him first against washington and I felt like he really didnt do anything. Then I saw him against Ottawa and he should have had a hat trick and had several nice passes and defensive plays.

I was skeptical of the pick but he looks like hes gonna be a very good player.  I love that he is 18 and his shot looks like an NHL shot already. him playing with drouin could be magic in the future, as they looked great together in the ottawa game.

These kids have to show they can play the game on there own, not on the coat tales of your best players. Only then you can start to look at matching for chemistry.

Sure but you're talking about an offense-first player.  You dont think his game would be affected if he was playing with Froese and DLR?   They play a defensive game & he'd be making plays they cant keep up with.

The last couple of games he's been driving play no matter who he has played with.  Put him on a line with skilled wingers & you'll get a sense of just how much he can drive the play for real.
