Lately it's been a period, and that's stretching it. That's because we weren't using Deslauriers, Alzner, Schlemko, 1st-pairing Benn, etc. to start the year. Not sure there's been a drop-off in effort so much as a drop-off in talent. When you remove Byron and Armia and sit someone like Reilly/Juulsen/Mete, even though those guys aren't are top players, it takes away the advantage we have of having depth and being able to roll 4 lines that skate well. That wears down the other team. As it stands, we have shifts with our 4th line where we get completely hemmed in and lose all momentum. We have problems with our D not moving the puck up ice. Our PP stinks. And we're taking too many dumb penalties (again, with the 4th line being responsible for more than their fair share of these).
