H_T_L
vs The Canadiens play their second game of the week after falling to the Washington Capitals in overtime on Monday night at the Bell Centre. It's a busy week for the Canadiens who, after the game on Wednesday in New Jersey, head to Buffalo to take on the Sabres on Friday before welcoming the archrival Boston Bruins to the Bell Centre on Saturday night. Max Domi's points streak continues. With an assist on Jeff Petry's goal on Monday, Domi became the first Canadiens player to enjoy a 10-game points streak since Vincent Damphousse in 1996. Domi has 25 points this season, good for first place on the Habs. Tomas Tatar, Jeff Petry, and Jonathan Drouin are tied for second with 17 points each. The Devils are on a two-game losing streak after dropping games against the Detroit Red Wings and Carolina Hurricanes last week. Kyle Palmieri leads New Jersey with 20 points (11G, 9A) this season, while Taylor Hall is close behind him with 19 (5G, 14A).
maas_art
The good news is that despite Juulsen's injury, Alzner is not in, Oulette is. The bad news is that Deslauriers isnt out for Chaput, Peca is. Lines at practice: Drouin - Domi - Shaw Tatar - Danault - Gallagher Lehkonen - Kotkaniemi - Agostino Deslauriers - Chaput - Hudon Peca Benn - Petry Schlemko - Reilly Ouellet - Mete Alzner - Weber

Peca looked decent early on with other linemates and has not looked good since Dlo was added to the line. So what's the obvious solution????? Sit Peca
H_T_L
Devils forward Nico Hischier is expected to return to the lineup on Wednesday after missing four games with a thumb injury. Prior to the injury, the 19-year-old was on a hot streak posting three goals and 12 points through his first 15 games. He was also back on the top line at practice on Tuesday morning, Amanda Stein of NHL.com reports.

Im not sure in what world Dlo - Chaput - Hudon looks better than Peca - Chaput - Hudon but what do i know. You would think that with DLo getting the least minutes of the game & being pretty much terrible all year, he'd be the scratch? Maybe its like Schlemko, they are trying to trade him & scratching him wont help that cause but since when has MB ever tried to increase the value of a player prior to trading him? Trading Deslauriers... That seems unlikely. The dude is a career fourth liner with little to no value. I guess it's strange that he stays in and Peca sits. But Peca, too, has been unimpressive this season. I'm doubtful Chaput will be any better.
campabee82
I think Chaput will actually do well tonight DLO will stink up the joint and Hudon will compliment Chaput well. It may end up that Peca will replace DLO in Buffalo on Friday and that line will turn things around. Optimistic I know but we can't actually get any worse with that line can we? I do actually think Chaput and Hudon will work well though.

I'm doubtful Chaput will be any better. Yeah i dont think DLo has any value to be honest but obviously they like him. I think you could put him on waivers & he'd clear, which generally means a player has no value. Still, someone might throw a late pick at us for him. Honestly i dont really care what we do with him (trade him, minors etc) as long as he's not on the roster where he seems to be continually killing momentum. Peca hasnt been great but at least possibly shows there's another dimension to his game. Chaput has been decent in Laval by the sound of things and was probably one of the few people cut at camp that deserved a bit more of a look so I definitely dont mind the callup. I like the fact that even though guys like Evans and Vejdemo are starting to look quite good there, we are not rushing to call them up just yet. Let them spend some time with Bouchard. Let them develop properly. 3 hours ago, campabee82 said: I think Chaput will actually do well tonight DLO will stink up the joint and Hudon will compliment Chaput well. The ONLY justification i can see for them leaving DLO in is that he's probably slightly better defensively than Peca and those two (hudon especially) can sometimes make riskier plays.
