H_T_L
vs The Canadiens can put together their second three-game winning streak of the season. In their first such string, Claude Julien's troops beat the Pittsburgh Penguins, Detroit Red Wings, and St. Louis Blues starting October 13. This will be the first of two meetings between the Habs and Hawks, with the second taking place on March 16 at the Bell Centre. The Blackhawks are going through a rough patch of late, having lost six consecutive games. Jeremy Colliton's squad only won three games in November and have yet to taste victory in December. Acquired from the Arizona Coyotes on November 25 in exchange for Nick Schmaltz, centerman Dylan Strome is enjoying some success with his new team. The forward has three goals in his first six games for Chicago.
CaptWelly
Go HABS GO!!!! I may have to be careful yelling that this afternoon as my brother and I will be in enemy territory at the United Center for the game today!!! We'll be along center ice ….just up at the top in Section 334 , so I don't think they'll pan that high , but if they do you may see a couple of HABS colors blended in! GO HABS GO!!! kinot-2
Thanks HTL, I was just gathering some info. The Blackhawks are on a six-game losing streak following an eight-game losing streak earlier this season. They are the only team in the NHL with two separate losing streaks of at least six games this season. They had just two six-game losing streaks in the last 10 seasons combined. Chicago ranks dead last in power-play percentage at 11.5 percent while the Canadiens are just ahead at 14.1 percent, third lowest in the NHL. The Blackhawks have converted just one of their 23 power-play opportunities in their last nine games. Chicago will take an NHL-worst minus-30 goal differential into Sunday's game and has struggled throughout the season to score, which -- coupled with the Blackhawks' inability to contain opposing teams -- has led to predictable results. Habberwacky
Looks like the new coach is fitting in fine as he and Queneville have produced nice long losing streaks. Getting older and slower cause the big guns can't skate any more with all that money in their pockets. Always liked the Blackhawks, but if Crawford doesn't win it for them, and he hasn't looked to good lately. These are the games we have to start winning. I believe Bergevin is trying to make a steal of a deal out there as Chicago could help us out on defense or forward. Unfortunately Alzner's contract is taking up our cap space. Chicago should be looking to dump some big players this year as it isn't going to get any better. Bergy would be wise not to wait to the trade deadline if he can grab something now. Go Habs Go!
