H_T_L
UFA this summer. Plays Center/left wing and apparently has wheels. Don't think he'll go to Laval with the expanded rosters now in effect. They brought up Weise too, so something else might be brewing. We still need bodies in Laval. campabee82
This potentially sets up for a very fast 4th line if we move Lehkonen up a line, although I can't imagine doing it under many circumstances. Byron-Peca-Weal

And while I think he got fair value for Jordan “Steelers” Weal (I really hope that sticks), this could be chayaka’s final season AZ’s gm, given how he got hosed on the Max Domi and Dylan Strome deals. Even though this is far from a blockbuster, bergevin still won this deal by acquiring the better player.

Strome is playing well for Chicago but Schmaltz also played well for Arizona and was close to being a point-per-game player. The problem was that he got hurt, but that's not really in Chayka's control. As for Domi-Galchenyuk, yes we have absolutely won that trade so far, but it's still year one. Many people said MB got hosed on the Sergachev-Drouin deal last year and now are less sure this season, so I'd give it time to see how Domi-Galchenyuk plays out. AG was hurt to start the year and definitely took some time to get adjusted, but he's been one of Arizona's best players for the past two months and sits 2nd on the team in scoring. He's playing fine, it's more the case that Domi has really had a breakout year in Montreal and it remains to be seen if he will keep that up. Keep in mind that from an Arizona perspective, Domi was pretty awful last season, so even though he's playing well here, Arizona themselves are getting more from AG this year than they did from Domi the past couple. Hard in that case to say Chayka made the team worse and they're probably in fact a fair bit better. They're one of the top teams in the league in terms of man-games lost and in terms of man-games lost adjusted for the strength of player lost to injury, including missing their starting goalie for most of the season. I think we all remember what happened to us any time Carey was injured long-term too! Despite that, the Coyotes are still in the playoff race, so I don't see Chayka as having been burnt badly at all and in fact, he's kept the team competitive despite a lot of hardship there, both in terms of the injuries and in terms of it just not being a very attractive site for free agents.
