I consider this a must win tonight ... Habs realistically have to get 15 pts over the last 12 games I think

I think it might take more than that (and Im still hoping we can leapfrog into 2nd WC) but yes I agree - pretty near must win.   Our next 6 or 7 games will be against teams that have worse records than the isle but I think we need to continue the streak we started in Detroit.

I posted in the MN thread, but 15 theoretically should be enough to get in. That's going to be right around what gives us 80%+ odds of making it into the playoffs. Anything less than that and we're hovering in the 50% range of making the post-season which means we'd need a ton of help. The problem is that barring our opposition resting players, we have the toughest home stretch final 5 games of any team, so we've got to make a move now. I really think we've got to win 6 of the next 7 to put ourselves in the driver's seat, including the 2 against Car and Clb. We do play the Isles twice in the next little bit though, so we can also theoretically narrow the gap on where we sit behind them if we can sweep both in regulation. Lose tonight, and you basically need to win 6 in a row thereafter.

Head Coach Barry Trotz announced Thursday morning that goalie Robin Lehner will be back when they take on the Montreal Canadiens.

Yes, but I believe he is supposed to be the back up according to initial reports... that means we'd get Greiss, who basically has identical numbers to Lehner this season, so not sure that plays a big role in the outcome. Boychuk is expected to be out with a concussion still.

So Weal was on a line with KK today in practice. Not sure if it was as the winger but i assume it was. If we're grooming KK as a center then he needs to stay there.

Thankfully, Weal was playing RW on a line with JK and Drouin.

Lines at practice were:

Tatar - Danault - Gallagher
Byron - Domi - Shaw
Drouin - JK - Weal
Lehks - Thompson - Armia

Mete - Weber
Kulak - Petry
Benn - Folin
