Who Do You Think Will Win, And Who Do You Want To Win?

OK,,, the playoffs are here, and some of us will be following them. So, who do you think will win the cup (logic), and who do you want to win the cup (underdog maybe)?

Personally, I would like to see the Jets win it, but it's hard to overlook the Bolts winning it all.

Anything can and will happen, as it's a tough slog to win 16 high energy games out of 28. Upsets, Injuries, maybe suspensions, and illness can derail a team especially to key players.

Yep! it is a great team but the coach makes me want to Barf.

Tell me about it, my man. I want to like some of the players and the style, but Cooper just rubs me the wrong way. I want nothing but ignominious failure for that team.

I actually think Boston will take the East with the conference final being Wash vs Bos

In the west I think you see Calgaryl vs Wpg for the conference finals, with either coming out

In the Stanley Cup finals I think Boston takes it regardless of who they face from the west

Here are my playoff picks:

- TB over Clb in 6 (although I think Clb could actually win if Hedman is out for the series)

- Bos over Tor in 6

- Was over Car in 6

- NYI over Pit in 7

- Dal over Nas in 7

- Wpg over Stl in 7

- Cal over Col in 6

- LV over SJ in 7

- TB over Wpg in 6 (which funny enough is the same finals match-up and result I predicted at the start of the year, so sticking with it)

To answer the other question, the order of teams I'd like to win the Cup (or maybe least objectionable is another way to look at it):

1. Calgary

2. Winnipeg

3. Nashville

4. NY Islanders

5. San Jose

6. Washington

7. Las Vegas

8. Dallas

9. St. Louis

10. Carolina

11. Colorado

12. Tampa Bay

13. Columbus

14. Toronto

15. Pittsburgh

16. Boston

Look at what's happened to Tampa. They got beat twice on their own home ice. I'm rooting for the Blue Jackets to finish the upset. I hope the Islanders can also finish off the Penguins.

The way the games are played and officiated I wouldn't doubt what you hope for comes true.

Well, my preferred team just won the Stanley Cup tonight.

I, like many, had Tampa winning the Cup. But as I said at the start of the playoffs, I could see Columbus winning the series, especially if Hedman was out. The parity in the league is greater than its ever been, perhaps somewhat because of the league changing rules to make it so... the loser point, the salary cap, the lack of enforcement of the rulebook by officials... all things that force a regression to the mean in terms of team performance.

Would have to figure Washington is the favorite to come out of the East now, with the West still being wide open.

Tampa, hands down. Because good management, good player development and exciting attacking style, deserve to  be rewarded.

But the series which excites me most now is Leafs vs Bruins, for obvious reasons.

You were saying.... really though no one saw that coming! i put it on the coach no excuse to fail that badly with that team!
