DD stated that sending CC to their  affiliate team Is a possibility

At least it gets CC away from this tire fire. Rookie Coach in Laval, where team has been hot & cold. We'll see. Timing is curious, with Perreault,  Paquette & now CC out, only Pezzetta in. Also, Gallagher & possibly Petry and for sure Edmundson.  I'm going to go out on a limb here, and say, we will lose to Bertuzzi & the Wings.

This is more a SCAPEGOAT. Take some of the media and attention away from the team.

Let him play through it. Give him more icetime. Its not like were losing because of him.

Put him back with Suzuki, Or move Droiun and Anderson up with Suzuki ..

And a line of CC, Dvorak and Hoffman. Or CC, Dvorak and Toffoli.

The one thing i noticed about Dvorak, is he likes to distribute the puck a lot and he uses the quick short passes. Where Suzuki loves to carry it more. This would be really good for Caufield.

Bring up Poehling, 5 points in 4 games and Play him between Toffoli and Armia.  Or Hoffman and Armia..

That would give you a 4th energy line with Evans, Leks and Pezzeta.

How long does he stay down?  I'm guessing production will be the deciding factor.  Just wondering if there might be a chance of catching him locally in Belleville on Nov 20th.  I am leaning more towards probably not with Laval having 6 games before then.  Be great to see him play but would also be nice to see him get rolling again and back playing with the big club.

Yeah, impossible to know. If i had to guess if the team had a number in mind Id imagine 4-6 games.  If he dominates right away then i could see them calling him up asap.  If he falters though, I could see that number stretching to 10 or more games.   If he was to develop chemistry with guys like Poehling & Ylonen you could conceivably be building a future NHL line there too so they may want to keep him down a little longer just to develop some chemistry there.

I could also see him being left in Laval for an extended period of time. Just seeing what develops out of working with Poehling and Ylonen.

I could be totally wrong, but am thinking somewhere around 10 games is the minimum: building confidence back up won't happen with a couple games, no matter how well he does. An extended stint to rebuild confidence, work on finer points of his game, and stay away from the disaster in Montreal makes sense to me.

I don't think there's any maximum: if he's not looking great I could see him staying down, but hopefully he lights it up and forces the team to recall him at some point.

Frustrations continue as the Rocket drop fourth straight .

He went from one losing team to another ....lol

I mean, we've been largely an organization of failure for the past several years.

2020-21 - Lost in Finals
2019-20 - Lost in first-round
2018-19 - DNQ
2017-18 - DNQ
2016-17 - Lost in first-round
2015-16 - DNQ

The Laval Rocket have done nothing since moving to Laval. With the exception of last season.

They would have DNQ if it were not for the buy in round due to COIVID

Cole has potential for sure... but his being on the small side is not something I believe is what the Habs need right now IMO. A longer stay in the minors may not really help his development that much. I really think he could be a valuable trade chip going forward during a rebuild.

Every kid has potential .  What is CC's I dunno I m lousy judge of talent

It's up to the team to find it, develop it, ensure that he reaches his maximum potential

Galchenyuk, Scherback, etc all had potential  but ....

The kid showed up at the end of the year when guys are playing hard and getting going for the playoffs, he then played in the playoffs and was good really good. He has more than potential he has it, he showed it but this team is a tire fire right now and the kid can't do it all himself he is a goal scorer pure and simple he can skate really well and is a good passer what more could we ask for? he just need some kind of team around him to be able to get his job done. If he could do it in the playoffs against teams that were better than us he has what it takes, I am in no rush to let go of this guy at all! I mean come on he has not even had a full year to figure out the NHL yet!

If you watch he uses his speed and is in good position most of the time. He's actually pretty solid defensively. That said put the players in position to succeed. I don't see why (especially now) that we don't try Drouin/Suzuki/Caulfield together for a bit. Put the talented players together.

Suzuki and Caufield really haven't clicked this year. Caufield hasn't produced with anyone, and Suzuki has been better without CC. I'd actually be interested to see CC paired with Drouin like you said (give CC someone who can move the puck up ice and pass to him) and Poehling (give him a bigger center who can make space).

As for Suzuki, I'd give him Toffoli, who he's had success with before and I'd give him Armia, another player who has struggled but who can provide size and puck recovery skill.

Drouin-Poehling-Caufield

Toffoli-Suzuki-Armia
