6'2 and a nasty streak. Sounds like an eventual Weber replacement.:)

I'd suggest Petry. If he pans out. I am a bit surprised they went after a left hander. But not overly as our top two are slowly adding years towards the end. He got picked about 1.5 to 2 slots higher than his overall average rated (buy 10 sources) position of 19ish. So, totally in the ball park. And these days that's pretty normal for the majority of first rounders. Third Dman taken overall in this years draft. I like going D early.

The reason i said Weber is because apparently he prefers to play the right side. Time will tell.

Romanov has played the right side a lot as a left shot and now Guhle as a left hand shot has played a lot of right side D, so this is an excellent depth / flexibility move for two potential top pairing D

I didn't know that about Romanov, interesting...

Going to miss pretty much the rest of tomorrows draft. Hope we find a few diamonds.

Based on a few off the board round 1 choices, at picks 47,48 and 56 we should have some good prospects. After that, the draft is pretty well over for me as there is lower probability of anyone making our roster. Hoping in round 4 they pick up Alex Cotton.

With Gunler still available I would like to see the Habs move 48 + 56 to take him

11:30 am est today
It’s rare to see two picks for 1 unless you are Trading up for a first  round pick like Calgary accepted . The 2nd could be a 4th rounder but may not be enough. While I agree with your thinking I’d be ok if they moved Hudon, or Mete even Kulak with our 2nd rounder to move up. Sizeable Shooters in the 2nd round after Gunler - Torgersson, Chromiak , Mysak ( yuk yuk), Colangelo , Jarventie, Heineman - I’m hopeful there is a run on some good dmen at the top of the 2nd round as from a need perspective we don’t need another LD or small forward. There are some good RHD like Jurmo, Niemela, Grans but with Romanov and Guhle able to play both sides - that RHD pick may not be an optimal need fit vs BAP theory.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind moving say Mete + 47th or 48th for 32nd OVA

Three picks in the second round is exciting. There's always a chance to get an NHLer in the second round. Here's hoping we can find someone who turns into an impact player in 4-5 years!

Yup. Honestly our best round is almost always the 2nd. We seem to worry too much in the first but with the 2nd Timmins has made some really nice picks - Subban, Lehkonen, Romanov, Brook, Ylonen, Struble - and thats with us missing a 2nd for a bunch of years over the past 12-15 drafts.

Did Mysak fall? It looks like he was ranked much higher by most.

Yes MYSACK fell - happens with age - can’t wear boxers any more as I need support

oh yes Jan Mysak fell a bit but I think he has an very high ceiling- most people had him ranked higher. Tuch is just so so for me as I think USA development players are always overrated based on the schedule they play
