ESPN.com.  Winnipeg has placed forwards Patrik Laine (upper body) and Nate Thompson (lower body) on injured reserve.  Defenseman Dylan DeMelo has been added to the active roster.

I think that maybe, just maybe, that Winnipeg also placed Laine on the doesn’t play for them list as well.

As per comments by Elliotte Friedman on Saturday’s Headlines report, Sam Bennett would like to be moved by the Flames. Friedman noted, “I did call his agent, Darren Ferris, who said, ‘yes, that’s true, he would like it to be considered.” Another unhappy camper.

Didn't he play for the Detroit Red Wings back in the day?

Yes. Back in those days the Hamilton junior team was owned by Detroit. The St. Catherine's Black Hawks team was owned by Chicago. Oshawa Generals owned by Boston(Bobby Orr). Montreal Jr. Canadiens (Peterborough Petes sponsored by the Habs) owned by the Habs. Toronto Marlboroughs  owned by Toronto and the Kitchener Rangers were owned by the New York Rangers. Going to Junior A games we saw a lot of the up and coming stars play.

Yeah. I guess those days ended in 1969. The 1969 NHL Amateur Draft was held at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel in Montreal, Quebec. This draft is notable for being the first NHL draft to be conducted after the league ended direct sponsorship of junior hockey.
