Anderson probably still out (but hopefully not).  Probably not a lot of other changes.   I think we will win. I think the confidence is coming back.  JK with 2 goals  4-1 habs win.

DD almost "has" to start Carey for Carey' confidence.

its that slippery slope but i agree.  1 more strong game & confidence starts coming back - 1 more loss and its a set-back.   Too bad we have to way 2 weeks for Burke to start working with Carey

They had video of him working out with the Laval goalie coach on Rds website. I'm guessing he's touched base with Burke on issues to work on.

Most likely but they pretty much have been using a platoon system for the last little while, so they may opt to go Allen this game and Price on Sat. It would be a mistake to let Allen sit too long IMO

Good point.  in today's digital world there's no reason they cant get Burke on zoom calls and get him all the video footage to review.  Not quite as good as being there in person but having the Laval GC there as his surrogate they may actually be able to do a lot.

I think it's a near-given Carey starts too. He played well last time out, they're going to try and build on that. My guess is no other line-up changes, albeit Perry certainly hasn't earned his spot in the line-up and it wouldn't be unreasonable to give Frolik a chance.

Perry would have to clear waivers, but I'm not suggesting they send him down. They have enough cap space that they could recall Frolik as well. Or if they wanted to put Frolik in for Byron, yes, they could send Byron down without needing waivers for a few more games.

Gotcha. Is Byron technically on a recall?  LIke on days off he's back on the taxi squad i think..

He was waived already so they can put him on the taxi squad (on off days) to save salary against the cap. They've been doing that all year with Suzuki, Kotkaniemi and recently Perry and Byron because they have cleared waivers.

Because Byron cleared waivers and "went on the taxi squad"  in theory he's still "on the squad" & they are calling him up before each game. I agree with you, id rather have him on our roster than on the squad/minors but technically he can still be sent back down for the next few games without re-exposing him to waivers. Perry's has already run out - and despite him passing through waivers once this season, Im not sure if he wouldnt get claimed if we did it a second time.

Allen starting. Anderson out.

Interesting. Wasnt sure if DD would sit price.

Per John Lu:
"Ducharme says Anderson is progressing well but there’s no chance he’ll play tonight. They’ll assess him for Saturday but want to be sure he’s 100% and not take a chance aggravating his injury or risking a new one. "

thats great news - im glad they are not rushing players, that has been a problem in the past to an extent.

Here’s how the forward lines and defence pairings looked at the morning skate:

Drouin – Suzuki – Toffoli/Anderson
Tatar – Danault – Gallagher
Lehkonen – Kotkaniemi – Armia
Byron – Evans – Perry
Frolik

Chiarot – Weber
Edmundson – Petry
Kulak – Romanov
Mete

really wish they'd change those defense pairs a bit.

I think if JK has another couple of big games like his last 2, he might be getting better wingers soon. No offence to Lehks and Armia but more offensive options would probably help if our young centre continues to play like he has since DD/Burrows took over.   Interesting that he said he had a connection with Burrows in Laval & he's picked right up where he left off down there last year...
