  1. 1. How many shots will we get in regulation?

Earlier game then normal. I'll guess Allen gets the start with Price possibly Saturday.

To say this is a big one would be an over statement. Flames are obviously close to a do or die situation but if we're serious about playing beyond  #56, we better bring the A game.

How many chiefs do we break? (penalties)

I'm going to break that guy myself whoever nets us that 5 on 3 especially. Now how I'm going to do it is another story but I got friends. Lol

Yep. And the boys better play a lot...lot...better than they did last game. They were asleep. Guess they are not worried that thy might...just might get knocked pout of a supposedly-sure thing = playoffs.

Projected D pairings for tonight

Chiarot Weber

Edmundson Petry

Kulak Romanov

ugg.  just when I think they were understanding Weber's limitations...  Not that im surprised, mind you.

meanwhile, we had 97% odds of making the playoffs before last game, and after last game the oddsmakers have us down at 91%.  Still high but lets get it back up there with a win over the flames please.

I'd like to see how it goes. I think Edmonson back with Petry lets Petry play more to his potential. I also think Kulak will look much better back on the third pairings with better match ups. I also like Chariot when we play opponents like Calgary who play a tougher style of play. I think we can be fine "if" the forwards play a strong defensive game also. Not blowing the zone to quickly staying back deeper and supporting the dee and giving them the short outlet passes to start the move up ice. It breaks down to quickly when the forwards are playing up at the line so the other team pinches and then the forwards have no time or room to make a play. Team defense creates offense.

Is it possible Caulfield might play this evening?

Im not sure if its possible.  They said the problem was cap $.  If we waived someone I dont know if that counts for today. I think its possible he plays tomorrow but unlikely (or maybe impossible) it would be today.

I mean Chiarot is clearly better than Ouellet. But Chiarot as a 1st-pairing player next to Weber might hurt us more than Ouellet as a 3rd-pairing player next to Romanov. THAT is the problem.

They already said he would just be on the taxi squad for today and wouldn't play (barring a huge surprise, like someone going on IR).

The problem right now, as Maas said, is the cap. However, the rumor is that Price will be able to come back tomorrow, in which case they would be able to send Primeau down. They could also send Ouellet down with Chiarot back. With those moves, they would have enough cap space to officially recall Caufield. The team has already said they just want him to get skates in with the team, but frankly if the Habs suck tonight and can't score goals again, I think there will be a low threshold for calling on Caufield to try and fix that. Chiarot already said in interview today that he doesn't know the kid but he's heard he can score and that's something the Habs need, so he's all for the call-up.
