Geez , Leaf fans / radio hosts arent taking it well

Suggesting to trade Marner and Reilly

Signing Joe Thornton was a bad move . ( no kidding )

Leafs 4th line ( Thornton, Spezza, Simmonds ) was crap

They are taking it really hard

At the trade deadline their  signings were heralded as good moves . Rittich as a back up goalie, signing Foligno, Ben Hutton , Riley Nash . Now It was a waste . Foligno got hurt , the other guys never played regularily .

And Campbell says the 1st goal he let in was the worst goal he ever let in . Relax bud , every goalie lets in bad goals . You cant win if your team only scores 1 goal , This guy is really sensitire

Seems like an appropriate time to remember, both if you're the Oilers and the Leafs, that it took the Caps 12 years to get past the 2nd round w/ Ovechkin. 12 years. Must've been a helluva lot of inquisitive calls over that decade about potentially flipping for him.

In their 13th try, they won the damn thing. The only two mainstays for a decade were Ovi & Backstrom. There are some guys who are simply too good to move.

Read this in a forum today. He(a CGY fan not a TML) also wrote:

Price has been performing on this stage for well over a decade now. MacKinnon has figured it out. Only one of them actually earns 8 figures but they're both worth it. For Toronto's top end to look *this* overwhelmed, by the moment or whatever it was...and for it to happen five years straight...something in this mix is not working.

You can wait 13 years to win a Cup, but you need to be damn sure the guys you're committing to are hardwired to get you there.

I actually thought Spezza was pretty good. Considering what they have invested, hes' probably their best value aside from Nylander.

I'm lovin the meltdowns on 1050 TSN :)

I know. The Leafs were Canada's Team , now  fans, commentators are all over them . Trade Marner, Reilly , Thornton's a bumb ( not sure what they were expecting when they signed him ) . At the trade deadline everyone was thrilled with the moves Dubas made. Not one guy picked up made a difference .  Campbell sounds like he's crying .   Crapping on Keefe for continuing to play Thornton on the PP, for keeping Marner and Mathews together when they were doing nothing. It sounds like what I read in the " State of The Habs Thread "

I'll happily take Rielly.  Marner too if they are having a fire-sale. :4224:

Rielly for sure, if they want to get rid of him now, I'd gladly 'help out' the Leafs. Marner is just a tad too expensive for my liking... they'd clearly have to sweeten the pot

Only if they take back all of his salary.

Still having fun with the Leafs... the Foligno trade looks really good now. They traded their first-rounder this year for what... 7 regular season and 4 playoff games with 0 goals, a bunch of insgnificant assists, and a useless fight with Corey Perry. Given that CLB had to retain half of Foligno's salary to begin with and Toronto's Cap situation in general, I don't think they're in a position to offer him a contract unless he takes a heavy discount.

Mitch Marner not making any friends on his conference call with reporters today .

Would you do anything different ?    MM : No

Mitch Marner on reports he refused to change his role on #Leafs power play: "It's a complete lie. It's just people trying to get their name out there. It sucks that stuff like that's being said. I think everyone can see I'll try and play any role I can to help this team win."

Mitch Marner says he's deleted all social media apps.

His interview will be the talk for the remainder of the week

Yeah the most telling thing was watching the leaf homers at TSN put up the stat of teh Canadian teams & the picks they have in the next 2 drafts right after we beat the leafs.   We have most (18 i believe) and the leafs have the least - i believe it was 6 or 8 picks total in the next 2 years.  Ouch.
