So obviously first and foremost you hope the Avs/LV series goes to 7 and they end up a little more banged and bruised along the way.
Gives our vets more time to heal, Petry more time to come back, and the team more time to practice.

Regardless of who wins that series, its going to be tough for us.  I feel like we match up better against Colorado simply because their depth isnt as great but Mackinnon, Makar and co will be very very tough to stop.

We're in a good place right now, everyone is firing on all cylinders and they finally seem to have bought into DD's system.  Will be very interesting to see how this plays out.

Last team to clinch a playoff spot and first team into the semi finals. Who would have thought?

Also, we started our 1st round series nearly a week after a lot of the other teams. Crazy we're through to the third round first.

Not that she would but Trump still might call Queen Elizabeth and get the result changed thinking she's old enough to be convinced if Montreal wins this series. I know Toronto expected something like that. You could see the pornography when they won. You can see we swept Winnipeg just to be on the safe side; just for practice playing a team from the heartland of America.

This could make a good novel..

I have NOTHING to add to this thread. I have NO idea what's going to happen. Anything can happen.

Yes but we better get ready for what's coming, it keeps getting harder.

Does anyone know how soon (or late) we could be playing the 1st game?

nothing concrete AFAIK.   the NHL reached an agreeement with the canadian govt re: border travel (so the american team has to travel by private plane & will have to be in a mini bubble while in Montreal) but im not sure how that will affect things or if it will cause a delay.

I suppose theoretically they could play as early as next monday, if the series goes to 7 games & they play with one day off, but i dont know if they will try to balance out the two rounds now or what.  My guess is some time next week...

Thanks, it will be a good rest for Evans Petry and whoever else needs it.

Hopefully the Habs will have 3 games to study their next opponent while sitting and relaxing on their couches.

And reviewing the Avs/LV games.

Can Colorado pull this out? Gonna be tough. I have a feeling we're going up against Vegas.

I stopped watching after the second and it did not look like Vegas was going to be able to turn that game around.  They're definitely a resilient team.

I’ve watched a lot of Vegas games as my son is a fan( yes I know I failed as a father) & they have come back from a deficit, to win games, several times.

Marchessault
Stone
Pacioretty
Tuch

There's a lot of goals on those sticks. Danault has done really, really well at shutting players down this post-season. Fingers crossed he can keep it going if we do, indeed, end up playing the Golden Knights.

The positive is that we have good solid defense on all 4 lines (top 3 especially) so they wont have any lines they can really exploit (although i could see our 4th line having problems offensively if they have to play a 2 way game).

The best analogy ive heard is that Vegas is basically like our big brother. Same style, same depth - but just better everywhere.  I think it would come down to Price being better than Fleury and some lucky bounces tbh.  Either would be tough, i think Vegas would be tougher.
