It’s been a long time. How many of you were not alive in 93 yet?

I think as Habs fans, you fall in one of two categories:

- Too young to have been alive or remember the Cup runs of '93 and before.

- Old enough to remember but never thinking it would be 28 years between finals appearances. They won in '86 and I think the 7-year gap before they won in '93 was the longest in franchise history, and they had gone to the Cup in '89 in between. I never thought in '93 that it would be this long to see this happen again. Hopefully we can finish the job. Would be a shame to get this far and the team really has worked hard to make it happen. They're deserving (unlike cap cheaters Tampa).

I was eight, so I remember it happening but wasn't allowed to stay up for the games

Really, really looking forward to this!

I've been around for 13 cups.

Same here, it was the domino effect.

This is on my bucket list. I hope to go to Montreal for the parade.

I was 6 for the 72/73 win ...  my first memories of the Habs ... then the 4 cups in late 70s ... the 6 years of pain till Patrick Roy and 86, and then the unbelievable roller coaster of 93 and the 11 OT wins.

I remember the cup wins in the late '70s and was born 19 days after one of the cup wins in the '60s (swept the Blues in the final that year I think). I wasn't alive the last time the Loafs won. :D

By '93 I had moved to Europe where I remain to this day.

Went to bed at 4:30am this morning a very (very) happy person. At work by 7:30am and still happy.

:D

I do remember 1993, especially McSorley's illegal stick and the Stanley Cup parade, but was only twelve at the time.

Different time zones remain an issue but I intend to watch as many games as possible in the finals. Got up at 4:00AM this morning to catch the 3rd and OT, still sitting at work now but not regretting it at all. There's a strong chance I woke up the entire neighbourhood this morning when Lehky scored :freu1:

And here I've been complaining to my wife about how this run has been screwing up my sleep schedule here in Halifax

I was alive for the 70s cups (but wasnt into hockey until i was around 8 or 9 so that was the Isle/Oilers time) - my dad is british so we tended to have soccer or cricket (WTH?!) on the TV. haha.

In 86 i was living in the states and at that time there was NO COVERAGE - like any - nationally.   I used to listen to the games on the radio (if i was lucky - even that was tough).

93 I was back in canada (first couple of years of art school) and watched every second, not expecting we'd go another decade (or more!!) till our next chance at the cup.

Depending on Kutcherov who I want to face.  If Kutch is healthy then a NY/MTL would be a better match up, if Kutch is out then I would have no issues with either

For sure. I think we can beat either tbh, but after their iffy work with the salary cap it would be poetic justice for them to lose in the finals with out Kutcherov.

I remember all the cups from Drydens first to 93 went to the parades as well my dad was a huge fan. never thought it would be this long but I remember when Houle blew it all up that we were in for dark days ahead! I am proud of this team they are winning because they are playing hard as a team for each other. there is a base of great young players that could be developed and built on to keep us in the hunt for a while.

man you guys are old! :p

I was a kid in 93, but it didn't stop me running out of the house to the boulevard at the corner of my street yelling and screaming, with one hand holding up 2 fingers, and the other 4. Lots of cars honking at me... the neighnours were a little annoyed but it was worth it

I still can't believe this is happening. What a crazy season, and what a team!
