Have really been impressed with Ylonen on the 4th line the past couple of games and thought he was good in previous call-ups too. I'd like to see him get a shot playing with skill players instead of the likes of Dauphin and Perreault. Conversely, do we really need to know any more about what Mike Hoffman can do on the top line? He is what he is and if we're using the rest of this season for evaluation and development purposes, playing Hoffman shouldn't be a priority. So I'd like to see

Caufield-Suzuki-Ylonen

Hoffman-Dvorak-Anderson

Byron-Poehling/Evans-Armia (whichever center is ready to return first; give this line some time together, it could be our 4th line next season)

Pitlick-Dauphin-Perreault

I was wondering why they were playing Hoffman up the lineup, thinking maybe they were trying to get a streak out of him in hopes of trading him in the offseason (you know, finish the year with 12 points in his last 15 games or something) although at this point he is what he is, i think all GMs know his pros and cons.

That said, i think using Hoffman on the top line is probably more about Dvorak than anything else. Suzuki-Caufield just works.  Anderson was working nicely on that line but I think MSL is trying to kick-start Dvorak - and it might be working.  After going pointless in his first 3 games under MSL he's scored a point in 4 straight games and Drouin-Dvorak-Anderson looked good to start the year...

Again, it could be about trying to increase value of a guy like Dvorak or maybe just trying to gauge what the team has in these players but I agree that it would be good to see what Ylonen has to offer too.
