The Toronto Maple Leafs claimed Adam Brooks off waivers on Wednesday. But his addition will force the team to make some roster decisions, and soon. And the waiver circle of life is complete.

The Maple Leafs sent Timothy Liljegren down to the Marlies in a corresponding move this afternoon to clear the space for Brooks.

One day after being claimed by the Toronto Maple Leafs, Adam Brooks was placed back on waivers Thursday for purposes of AHL assignment.    Poor guy!

Yeah, he must have said something,  because he got a game misconduct penalty at the end of the game. I guess he figures that the refereeing is bush league as well.

Dissatisfaction with the refs is growing.

A day after being placed on waivers by the Toronto Maple Leafs, who had claimed him the day prior, Adam Brooks was claimed Friday off waivers by his hometown Winnipeg Jets. And the frequent flyer continues.

Rat boy appealing his 6 game suspension.

NHL commissioner Gary Bettman has upheld Brad Marchand‘s six-game suspension for roughing and high-sticking Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Tristan Jarry after the Boston Bruins forward appealed. That seemed like it took quite a while for a decision.

Wow! Bettman finally grew a pair when it comes to the Bruins.

The 33-year-old Bruins star also admitted that he went after Jarry when the Penguins goaltender commented “how about that f—ing save?” Marchand admitted that “my emotions got the best of me and I made a poor decision.” That's all it took? Easy to get under his skin.

The Detroit Red Wings have placed Gemel Smith on waivers.  The Red Wings just claimed Smith off waivers from the Tampa Bay Lightning a few weeks ago. Due to this, Tampa Bay has first priority to claim him and if they do, they will also have the option to send him to the American Hockey League (AHL) without having to place him back on waivers. Other teams would not have that same luxury, however.

Dallas Stars forward Jamie Benn has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for unsportsmanlike conduct during NHL Game No. 516 in Chicago on Friday, Feb. 18, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today.

For squirting water from the bench into the face of an opponent. No sense of humour.
