Romanov has a broken nose.

Anderson out 2-4 weeks with an upper body injury after being hit from behind by McDermid. Laurent Dauphin recalled in his place.

From bad to worse.

Indeed. I'm not complaining about any added adversity the team has to deal with. I've accepted the lost season and I am ready for the Gorton era rebuild.

Same.  I am sure some of his trades are going to hurt... moving quality assets for a return that is moistly all futures (picks, prospects etc) always does but im still confident it will work out in the big picture/long run.

Im also curious about how he deals with free agents. In New York he made some masterful moves.  I know that you cant compete city for city - if someone loves the idea of NY, as lovely as Montreal is, you ain't getting that guy but thats fairly rare.  If we're pointing to the weather its pretty near a wash & even the taxes are about the same - in a high bracket montreal is at 53.06% vs  51.98% in NY.  So if he could "do it there" you'd think he can do it 'anywhere' :) (sorry for the sinatra misquote :P)

Ha! I like the Sinatra quote! I have not seen the presser but from what I have read it sounds pretty positive and well balanced. The team is going in a new direction and it sounds  like it will have much more modern views which can only be a good thing. I feel that as long as there is a balance to how things are done moving forward we will actually move forward.

Who

Jeff Petry out indefinitely, Corey Schueneman recalled by the Montreal Canadiens

Petry will not travel with the team to Nashville.

Wonder what that is about...? I know we've discussed the possibility of Petry carrying a nagging injury throughout the season. Maybe with Gorton on board he is shutting it down 'til Petry is actually healthy.

Just read this (unreliable of course) that Toffu is out with a UBI. Anyone else have a reliable source?

https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/canadiens-tyler-toffoli-evaluated-upper-body-injury/

Montreal Canadiens forward Tyler Toffoli won't practice on Monday and will be evaluated in the coming days for an upper-body injury.

Updates: Jeff Petry (therapy day), Joel Armia (therapy day) and Tyler Toffoli (upper-body injury) won’t practice this morning. Toffoli will undergo further evaluation in the coming days. Laurent Dauphin was recalled from Laval (AHL).

More injury news for already depleted Canadiens

Tyler Toffoli, Jeff Petry and Joel Armia probably won't face Lightning

A perfect storm developing - I really hope we can finish in 2nd or 3rd worst spot to improve the odds of getting a top 4 pick - Shane Wright and Joakim Kemell appear to be the top 1-2 picks and Conor Geekie is no slouch

Alllllllllllll good.

Everyone get rested, recover from injuries. No need trying to play through anything this season!

Yeah. Somebody on here mentioned something about going on LTIR for a broken toe nail. They must have got the memo.     🙃

Yep no point at all, there is bad and then there is where we are at right now no hope of playoffs at all so no point hurting an asset that we may need to move short term or long term.
