I agree completely this wasn't the goalies fault at all. Team scores 1 goal doesn't matter. Also missing Danault and Weber is really showing.

While not his fault he certainly didn't do anything to help him or the team, several of those goals were pretty weak and should be stopped by an NHL caliber goalie

Either way to win he would of had to have a shut out. Not going to win a lot of games 1-0.

This one was really really bad, we lost to a team who had a grand total of 15 wins last season. MB allowed the political pressure to play more Quebecois players influence his roster decisions and forgot that those players needed to be able to ACTUALLY play hockey! Savard has been by far the worst of the 4 so far

Don't go there. It is early, many important missing pieces (Price, Edmundson, Hoffman, Weber) in the lineup. Also include Danault, a Québécois centre, JK, Perry who are gone for good...Lines and D pairings are quite different than last year and will need time to form chemistry. Losing 5-1 to a bottom feeder in October on a back to back road game which is their second overall into the season is not a travesty. It is what it is.

Notice I didn't include Tuna in departed players because apparently who ever is designing and editing the web content on this site didn't get the memo...

Yeah, it's kind of funny how the official fan forums are being neglected by the NHL... bugged software, design issues, downtimes, outdated content, you name it. I mean it's 2021, how difficult can it be?

I mean he's our 3rd string goalie. I agree he wasnt great but this is a guy who was brought in to be a stop gap while price was out. If you believe MB didnt know about the players assistance aspect, then he should have only been on the roster for a couple of weeks and may not have even had any games.  Now that they know Price is out a minimum 30 days, they have to play him at least a few. its not ideal but the team should know that on nights he's in net, they need to give their tender more goal support.  1 goal is almost never enough but when you have an AHLer in net, its most certainly not enough.

I agree, but man that first goal was a wrist shot from over 30 feet away, I have seen my beer league goalie stop shots like that all day long.  Yes I know 3rd string and all but he is seriously supposed to be a NHL caliber goalie.  Several of those goals he was just clearly beaten on, and that can't happen at this level, you can't even chalk it up to nerves as it wasn't his first NHL start.  Yes I'm being critical but man at this level you need more than mediocrity in net
