Andrew Hammond will get the nod for the Montreal Canadiens as they take on the Flames at the Saddledone Thursday night, tweets TSN's Salim Valji.

The 34-year-old was acquired by the Habs in a trade with the Minnesota Wild last month. He has a 1.72 goals-against average and .939 save percentage in three games since the deal.

Here were their lines at morning skate:

Caufield-Suzuki-Anderson
Hoffman-Dauphin-Gallagher
Pitlick-Evans-Lehkonen
Armia-Poehling-Pezzetta

Romanov-Chiarot
Kulak-Petry
Schueneman-Wideman

Hammond

Looking like Armia will play his 1st game under MSL

I think Armia played against Winnipeg.

This could go badly for us but I hope we can keep Toffoli off the score sheet .

Did he??? Missed almost all of that game. My bad

They have a number of unlikeable players... Lucic, Tkachuk, Coleman, Mangiapane, Gudbranson... so yeah, not enthusiastic about seeing any of those guys have success.

The nice thing about this game is that each line has its own identity:

- Suzuki line is our skilled scoring line

- Evans line is a hard-working forechecking line that can play two ways

- Poehling line can play with energy/size but also some speed

- Dauphin line is the combination of overrated/overpaid players

But true. Hoffman isn't worth what he's getting paid. Gallagher's getting a long-term extension based on what he did in the past but not based on what he's likely to do going forward. And Dauphin has been inexplicably handed the 2C job when it's doubtful he should even be in the NHL. Vejdemo was better in his stint here IMO, but they need a French guy in the line-up.
