Barron probably makes most teams albeit, 3rd pairing at this stage but yeah, its a bit scary.  Hope Allen got some PTSD hazard pay in the new contract.

:4322:You’re right - I think Barron is going to have his hands full with the leafs offense. If he survives ok, then maybe he makes the roster as a 7th D. Will be an interesting comparison for both he and Schuneman.
Xhekaj is a long term project but hope he catches a few leafs with their heads down.

Martin St-Louis on Juraj Slafkovský being in the line-up tonight vs. the #Leafs: "tonight will be a good test for him. As we progress here towards the end of preseason, you're going to see deeper #NHL line-ups so I'm looking forward to see what that looks like for him"

This made me laugh...but seriously, I hope Allen stays positive!

Just brutal defensive zone coverage by Barron on the 3rd leaf goal  - he needs a lot of work

Ya, I noticed that twice he passed up a SOG also.

Watching this game, not really impressed! It more than confirms, to me anyway, that it is going to be a very long season. Not seeing anything to get excited about. Hoffman & Dadonov have been horrible.  & no prospects standing out.

Shoulld be a better line up tomorrow.

Understood, that we can ice  better lineup, but there was no intensity or urgency with any of our guys. The fringe Maple Leaf players were putting in the effort, as if they were playing for a contract. Just looking for a little effort, that's all. This game wasn't even close.

I feel sorry for Jake......

For sure.  Same thing is going to happen.  He's going to work his aZZ off, and get run down, try to do too much & pull a hammy. He deserves better, but knew that before signing that contract.

Well except for the 4 th line and all the D ( except Matheson )  - they were NHL players .

The D is going to be a concern all year

Don't feel too bad. He just got the sweet contract extension!

I know we jest about Hazard pay etc, but the truth is, Allen knew what he was getting himself into. I think he knows this year is going to be rough but he probably hopes that a year or two down the road the team will start looking much better.
