Unhappu
I always wear my Leafs bracelet, I don't blink for the last minute of play for each period, and I always have to watch the game on the 65" plasma screen tv in my house, no where else, and atleast one pregame show always. GIJAYNE
I'm a sailor and very superstitious. I never sail on a Friday 13th, never bring a black bag on board, Not that it would happen, but I wouldn't let a rabit on board either (why would a rabbit want to go sailing :? )

Guest Twenty Two
Anyone know of any player superstitions?[/quote:c578055f9b]Patrick Roy superstitions: Before the game he would stand near the blue line and concentrate on his goal and pretend it would get smaller and smaller, then he would skate as fast as he could toward it and turn at the last second. During games, he would talk to his goal posts, especially after a puck would hit one. Also before during and after games he wouldn't touch the blue or red lines, everytime he'd get near he one he'd step over it. I think there's one more..but I can't remember it. And I'm not superstitious myself, so I find this all very freaky.
Guest zachary-jean
No, but when I was young I used to make sure I had a freshly sharpened pencil with an unused eraser for every exam I took in school.
flamingpitts
From the sun to pluto, that's how superstitious I am. Let say I have a major exam tomorrow. I would study and put all the notes and books I used to study under my pillow when I sleep.
habsfan68
I'm superstitious as well, call me crazy but when Montreal lost those 2 games in a row I had just downloaded a new Habs picture on my phone a few days earlier. Being superstitious I temporarly removed it, we haven't lost a game since
Ryder-s-Biggest-Fan-_mtlc
Anyone know of any player superstitions?[/quote:db2c7b5a53]Michael has some superstitions when it comes to getting ready for a game...Heres a quote from an article that was in a St. John's Newspaper (The Telegram Sunday Aug.28th '05)... Interviewer: "Do you have any Pre-game rituals or good luck charms?" Ryder: "I have a cup of coffee before every game. And if I have a good game, the next game I try to do the exact same things I did before the last game. I might tape my stick at a certain time or have a second cup of coffee...It depends"
Guest GoHabsGo_CanucksAreChoking
YES. If I change my signature on this board the Habs lose. So I DO NOT change it. I already like my lovely picture of Carey in my sig anyways lol.
Guest Ellie
During the world juniors (the year Carey Price was playing) I used to have this theory that if I drank half a litre of chocolate milk every period, then he would do well... Crazy, I know. But I sincerely believed it. Another one, I have two pairs of Montreal Canadiens socks, so I mix them up and wear both of the left feet socks during the games. But I forgot to do that for last night's game against Ottawa I'll make sure to do that for the other games this season. p.s I hate the Toronto Maple Leafs
Guest bigsby
it's amazing how ridiculous superstitions look on paper. it's a wonder patrick roy ever won a game...lol. i'm also superstitious and sadly, i have a few constants in my repertoire: when i write an exam i have to use the same pen i studied with because i somehow believe that the knowledge is in the pen and not in my head. absurd but it works. like ryder i try to do the same 'pregame and game routine' i've done for a habs win for the next game. ridiculous and it does not work, i just keep thinking it will. when i'm at a game and the habs are down i'll either: switch seats (that works, i have some memorable moments after switching seats. i've even made my dad switch seats with me on occasion and he doesn't argue. lol) or i'll try to jinx the opp. goalie. that has also been effective but the timing, for both has to be just right. good grief. these are embarrassing. Guest Bronco85
I usually do that too, with opposing goalies, I'll mention how they will get the shutout it doesn't always work, not last night anywyas but most of the time it does.

I can't play road hockey and pretending to be a famous hockey star on gamedays, it's also bad luck xD I can't wear one of my gray jackets, it's also bad luck. Also chanting "[Opposing team] Sucks" is bad luck for me, the team I'm cheering for gets scored on a couple secs after I chant it.. I hate Karma.. My superstitions are retarded  Good Luck: AT ALL hockey games, I must sit in the second seat on the very last row. During the first and third period. During the second, I've got to sit on the second last row first seat. I have to touch this hockey stick a player gave me before every game. I have to play NHL 08 on gamedays, Habs VS Leafs, Leafs lose 10-0 I have to wear the same shoes to all hockey games I wear my "lucky" belt to hockey games I bring my lucky quarters in my pockets. I bring my lucky elastic band [DON'T ASK] Gotta watch the "LIVE" NHL thing on the NHL website for good luck. I have to listen to this one random song during the Habs games. Mines worse and nastier , I cannot get myself to wear deoderant on gamedays, it's been proven bad luck for me about 20 times. Luckily I do not sweat very much or smell bad and I'm a girl soo lol. *Yes I do take showers after the game is over and apply it then, on Non gamedays I ALWAYS wear it though lol
Guest Cenner Hice
Some superstitions don't work. Most superstitions don't work. I know some, however, must work: I always wear my Leafs bracelet, I don't blink for the last minute of play for each period, and I always have to watch the game on the 65" plasma screen tv in my house, no where else, and atleast one pregame show always. Keep it up. It's obviously working. Sorry, but... I always have a puck on my desk signed by a Hab member of the Hall of Fame. I used to change it every month. I got one signed by Scotty Bowman and put that on my desk for the first time at the beginning of January. I've not changed it since.
Guest gerryp18
I seem to remember a goalie's prg game ritual was to shoot puck on his own net but miss....thinking it would jinx the other team to miss the net during the game. I think it was a Canadiens goalie, maybe Roy or Dryden, but I really can't remember who it was.
