What do the habs do with Danis since we sign Aebisher the day before?[/quote:b97f8b8db6]

Use him as back-up and deal Aebi.

Aebi said he wants to be a #1 goalie... I don't think we'll get a decent performance out of him if he's unhappy as a second goalie behind Huet.

If Aebi wants to get traded and be a #1 goalie he better perform well when given the opportunites.

Danis should be the back up after Abbie is dealt. I guarantee you though that eventually this year, Danis will be with the habs.[/quote:91c57bf269]

I was thinking the exact same thing, i am figuring Bob keeps Aebi around for awhile so him and Huet can compete a little more for the number one spot, in the end Huet will, in my mind, out perform Aebi and then we deal Aebi in December unless someone such as Detroit offers up a good deal before the season starts, i dont see Aebi being moved until later in the season

it's really up to carbo if that happens, a real goalie battle i mean.

I like the idea though, have a goaltending battle, let Aebi show his skills, let his value & numbers go up, then trade him partway through the season. Of course...that's assuming everything goes to plan.

It's nice having Aebi for the start of the season though, just in case Huet has a really rough start. His contract from Gainey shows a big vote of confidence though, so you never know. Aebi doesn't really need to prove himself anymore either....who knows!?

Agreed. But a $3million contract isn't peanuts. Gainey must have faith. That's why I think a trade may be possible.

What if? Well...we're screwed. Not that Denis is horrible, I don't think we'd be any worse off than say....Ottawa with Emery.

I was looking at this site, http://habsprospects.hockeyhq.net/ and it seems that if Danis doesn't play 23 NHL games this season, he will be UFA. Surely another team would be interested in his services.

With Halak playing well, the signing of Desjardins, and Carey Price turning 20 this summer and possibly on his way to the AHL, are we seeing the last of Yann Danis with the Habs organization?

You know Danis AINt doing that bad

for what Halak has been doing all season long, Hamilton has one heck of a 1 2 punch, possibly even better than the Habs current 1 2 punch of Huet - Aebischer

Halak 11-4-1 , 1,52 GAA 0,949 SV% -- Last 2 stats are tops in the AHL, Next best GAA in the AHL is 2.26 and the next best Sv% .926 , plus his 5 shutouts, next best has 3

Danis 10-6-1 , 2,98 GAA , 0,905 Sv% isnt too shabby as a 1b Goalie

honestly and it doesnt sound like either goalie is disgrunted by the combo.

maybe dannis is hoping on the call up...but aside for that...everyone is pretty happy:cool:

Does anyone know if Danis' injury against the Crunch is serious? Will he be back soon?

Things are looking bad for the Dogs with their goalies as Halak is playing with the Habs, and now Danis is injured.

I'm sure Desjardins will do a great job, but who will be the backup goalie?

I heard it's not that bad but we'll see. Dogs are off till friday, if he can't go they will need to find a backup to Desjardins. Most likely they would grab someone from the ECHL and sign him to the PTO contract. The Cyclones goalie Morris would be a good place to start since he's played in the AHL already, but hopefully Danis is ok.

So lammy does that mean Yann will be the starter or this guys back up or split??

I hope Yann gets the starts

I hope they split. It's worked well for the Dogs all season and Desjardins is a hell of a goaltender.
